m-Lab Medical Education Platform

Meiji Indonesia's health information and medical education portal for healthcare professionals

m-Lab is the health information and medical education platform of PT Meiji Indonesia. Any visitor can read the health articles, while approved doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) also get educational resources, webinars, medical congresses and a professionals-only discussion forum. The main content is in Indonesian, with an English version under /en.

Medical content libraries

  • Health articles, HCP educational resources, peer reviews, a disease library, a product catalogue, upcoming and on-demand webinars, medical congresses and press releases, each with search, category filters and detail pages.
  • Sitewide search with suggestions as you type, matching the body text as well as titles.
  • Bookmarks for articles, resources and webinars, plus sharing to LinkedIn, Facebook, X and WhatsApp.
  • HCP-only content stays closed to readers without access: the body, downloads, recordings and join links are withheld.
  • A BMI calculator on the home page.

Healthcare professional accounts

  • Sign-up with profession, STR registration number and facility, followed by email verification and admin approval before HCP access opens.
  • An account area with joined webinars, registered events, saved content, a notification centre and email preferences.
  • Two-factor authentication, passkeys and password reset by email.
  • Registration for in-house events with a reminder 24 hours before each session, and hand-off links for events hosted elsewhere.
  • A discussion forum for approved HCPs, with mentions, reply notifications and admin moderation.

A workspace for Meiji's team

  • A block-based editor for every content type, with draft previews in the public page layout.
  • An approval flow of Draft → M&M Review → RA Review → Legal Review → Final Approval → Published, with a decision history and scheduled publish dates.
  • Admin roles matching Meiji's teams, an audit trail of changes, and an inbox for public feedback with Excel export.
  • An analytics dashboard for HCP activity, registration trends and top content, with Excel reports.
  • Editors for the home page, menus, footer, static pages and interface text, so the team can change the site without a developer.

On the technical side, every public page carries a canonical URL, language alternates and structured data, and the site serves an XML sitemap, robots.txt and llms.txt. HCP personal data and public feedback are encrypted at rest.

This platform was built through PopOut's website and application development service.

The challenge

Meiji Indonesia wanted one home for medical education: health articles for the public, alongside resources, webinars and a forum that only verified healthcare professionals may open. As a pharmaceutical company, every piece of content has to pass review by the M&M, regulatory affairs and legal teams before it goes live, and the internal team needed to manage every content type without a developer.

The solution

PopOut built m-Lab with ten content types, each with its own block editor; HCP sign-up with STR numbers, email verification and admin approval; and access rules that hide the body, downloads and recordings from readers without access. Every item follows a staged review up to Final Approval, and content changes are logged in an audit trail. HCP accounts come with event registration and reminders, a discussion forum, saved content, two-factor authentication and passkeys.

The results

Meiji's team now runs articles, HCP resources, webinars, congresses, products and site pages from one panel, and every item passes the same review stages before it goes live. Healthcare professionals get one account to read, save, register for events and discuss, and the analytics dashboard shows which content and events get used most.
